What should the next metroid game be

So, all's good, right? And she's been bringing them people and just handing them over. Blessed be the wicked, for at least they're managing to have some fun. Make it exactly like the old Prime games. Scan for story and lore with story cutscenes when the action starts up.

Keep the mystery going. Nothing should be spelled out. We should be exploring ancient ruins with clues left behind as to the planets history.

I do not need to see Samus' inner struggle with her past or fragile emotions. All I need to see is her exploring and being a bad ass. Let the player think for themselves and come to their own conclusions about the world and events. They do not need to be directly centered on Samus.

Never had to then don't have to now. That is why Metroid other M failed so miserably. Both in story and gameplay! Considering Fusion did it More topics from this board Not going to get this if this is Metroid of the Wild.

It would be nice to touch up the controls and floatiness in Super but more could go wrong than right with that. I'd also be fine with some semi-random spin-off, I'd like to know what happened to Samus after Fusion, when she still had to answer to the authorities for disobeying orders and vaporizing a space station AND another planet. Or what her life is like when the job is done and the reward claimed, literally the only game that has given us any glimpse of that is Zero Mission.

There are a lot of places with divisive takes actually. And from what I see many older fans are the ones hating the game. Though we should have seen it coming. Dragon Age: Inquisition is still the greatest game of all time.

I don't remember him saying "no more Metroid shenanigans" after Fusion. More topics from this board Poll: Metroid Dread vs. Metroid Fusion vs. Zero Mission vs. By and large, all three games feel like the same basic design slipped into a new environment. Or, what if it took a page from Breath of the Wild and gave you all your tools at the beginning of the game so you could tackle objectives in any order? And, what if Metroid explored co-op, or contained a branching narrative, or had a portal gun?

Everything is better with a portal gun, right? Are all of those ideas great for Metroid? Probably not. But exciting discoveries often come from unexpected places. If Metroid is going to stay with us for another plus years then it needs to grow — it needs to start thinking outside its beloved box.
